How Do I Apply Custom Templates to My Word 2010 Document?

  1. Open a new Word document.
  2. Click the Office button.
  1. Click Word Options.
  2. In the dialogue box that opens, chose Add-ins from the left-hand menu.
  3. From the Manage drop-down menu at the bottom of the dialogue box, choose Templates.
  1. Click Go . . . .
  2. The Templates and Add-ins dialogue box will open.
  3. Click the Attach . . . button to choose your saved custom template from its location on your computer.
  4. Check the Automatically update document styles box to apply this template to your current document.
  5. Click Ok to close the dialogue box and apply the changes.

When you click to view the Home menu in the ribbon, you should see your custom template styles in the Styles container.
